Don’t just count your way to weight loss…

As a Nutritionist, one of the most common misconceptions is I immediately have the knowledge to solve weight loss problems but understanding food, ingredients, digestion, calorie burning, and all the nutritive functions of the body (while all critical components in strategizing a plan) is only a part of the solution to long lasting weight loss. To me, based on my experience with my clients, the challenge of overcoming weight gain along with body image, over eating, binge eating, and other various health challenges such as digestion, energy fluctuations, mood, sleep, food sensitivities, allergies, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, etc. also must include understanding the mind and emotions of an eater including defining (and continuously redefining) bigger and better goals – my job as a Coach. The journey of a person looking to achieve more out of their physique just doesn’t end at calories/macros or weight training/exercise because I believe all of the ups, the downs, the challenges, the successes, the obstacles, etc. are experiences that complete a person’s true transformation in both body and mind.
