15 Reasons Why You Are Still Bloated When You’re Eating Healthy & Clean!

As a Mom, Nutritionist and Weight Loss Coach, I’m obviously very health conscious and I choose to eat foods that make be feel good and give me energy for my busy days. So when I personally experience bloating or I have my clients experience bloating red flags go off! Holistic Nutritionist, Erin Gauthier and myself have come up with a detailed list of some of the ‘suspects’ of bloating even if you are eating healthy and clean. Next time your bloated run threw this list, and see if you can identify the culprit…FYI it could be one of these or a combination. You are Dehydrated. The body is holding on to water, or rather its holding onto sodium, in order to preserve water. This is also why chronic dehydration can cause hypertension (high blood pressure.) What to do about it? DRINK 3-4litres of water per day (depending on activity level). When the body is hydrated properly, it no longer holds onto sodium. allow your body to flush. bye bye water bloat. Are you taking a …

Enjoy Food. Don’t avoid food.

Over the course of the last decade plus, I’ve experimented with countless of different eating styles and diets – Atkins, Vegan, Vegetarian, Octo-Lacto, Pescetarian, Macrobiotic, Paleo, Juicing, Cleansing, high fat, low fat, Intermittent Fasting, Bulletproof, etc. To this day I continue to try new things and research how I feel and how it applies to my life. Each eating style certainly has their benefits but, in my opinion, there is NO PERFECT WAY TO EAT because each and every single person on this planet is unique. There are different body types, people have different goals, different lifestyles, food sensitivities, live in different climates, geography and food availability could be an issue, age requires different nutrients, and even weather play a part in our food needs. Having countless food options increases your chances to achieve optimal health, vibrancy, and your own fitness goals. Whether it’s too much of a particular type of food or too little of certain nutrients, the best way to harmonize the body is by creating balance but as many of us know …

Feeling Bloated?

With today’s typical diet being low in nutrients and high in empty calories coupled with high levels of stress and added medication, it’s no wonder that more and more people are suffering from some kind of bloating. In addition to feeling discomfort bloating can come with every embracing symptoms such as gas or needing to go to the bathroom very quickly. So what are the most common symptoms of a bloated stomach? If your stomach protrudes outwards and you constantly feel uncomfortable because you have built up gas inside of you then this is a sign of bloating. In fact many sufferers from bloating even joke around saying how pregnant they feel because of the need to unbutton their pants when their bloating becomes severe. The great news is a bloated stomach is very different from actually gaining fat mass around your stomach since the bloating is temporary with air simply being stuck around your abdomen causing the tummy to distend outwards. Even better, stomach bloating can be rectified very quickly by simple changes to …

What I’m Eating and How I’m Training

Over the past couple of months I have received a ton of messages asking what I personally eat on a daily bases especially now that I’m breastfeeding. So … I decided to share exactly what I’m eating to prepare for a photo shoot in October. Let me just start off by saying this shoot prep has been a lot different for me 1) I’m a very busy Mommy looking after a 5 month old 2) I am running a full time business with a lot of new expansions on the go, and 3) we just moved into a new home and no I do not have a Nanny. It has been crazy to say the least. For the most part, I eat relatively well and fuel my body with the right nutrients from the very best food sources. I will incorporate lean animal proteins, complex carbohydrates, vegetables and healthy fats with each meal. I snack on a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds (in moderation), whole grain crackers and cheese or …

TEAM STRONG GIRLS Biweekly Progress

I am beyond proud of Jennine J’s amazing ‪#‎progress‬. She came to me a few short months ago looking to for strategies to eat better and feel ‪#‎healthy‬ as she suffered from headaches and migraines for years. Jennine is also on medication to combat early stages of Cervical Cancer so we had to be very strategic with her programming. After a few weeks of assessing her range of motion, biomechanics, and strength progress, we had identified a lot of tightness in her trapezius muscles that was the root of her headaches as a simple movement with a very light bicep curl would bring this on. I suggested to bring my findings to her Chiropractor and we put together a strategy to break apart the scar tissue that was built up in this area and, the great news is, she has now slowly resumed exercise for the purpose of Stabilization and Strength Endurance with simple band work and increased range of motion. Jennine says, “Hi Jenny!!! I’m very excited that finally at some point I might …

You only get out, what you put into it

I have the pleasure of coaching many women around the globe with their fitness goals and part of my process to get them to where they want to be involves biweekly check-ins where I not only assess physical progress but also (very important) behavioural changes. While weight loss is usually the initial focus, the work I do with my clients is a journey of overcoming behaviours that no longer add value to their health/well-being and to begin embracing new habits that are more inline with their goals. One of the most common situations that some of my clients experience is disappointment in their progress and while it’s completely normal to want things to go faster (don’t we all?), the reality is it won’t. The body will respond when it’s ready but, we can all rest assured that with Dietary Compliance, it will happen. Now this is where I start on my Coaching Rant – NOBODY has any right to be disappointed with their progress if they are ‪#‎OffPlan‬ – more FREE MEALS consumed than assigned, …
