As we head into the weekend (Memorial Day long weekend for my US friends), I would like to post a friendly reminder on balance with food and training.
Punishing yourself with a workout after the weekend due to ravenous amounts of eating or drinking is a very poor approach to training and also builds terrible behavioural patters.
If you have an event to attend, try to control your food intake or choices and if things go awry be at peace with the decisions you make. Get back on track with your diet and training after the weekend and make honest steps in rectifying those behaviours.
Your “crazy” workouts do little for fitness goals overall and just serves as punishment for your indiscretions. In most cases, individuals that practice this ritual look exactly the same making no progress.
Consistent Training trumps Crazy Workouts any day, all day, and every day.
