“You have to be with someone who believes in your purpose just as much as you, if not more. Or else, what’s the point? And vice versa.”
This is my coaching mantra. This is how much I put in emotionally and professionally with every person I work with. My job isn’t just about putting together plans and updating programs for clients, it’s about coaching them back on track when things don’t go according to schedule. It’s also helping them get back on their journey when life gets in the way.
Unfortunately when clients give up on themselves, there isn’t much I can do on my end. In fact, it’s very disheartening when I read a biweekly and someone just throws away their hard work because they feel sorry for themselves. It actually pisses me off because there’s a huge difference between falling off of track and just straight out sabotaging OUR progress together.
It’s also confusing as to why someone would want to continue paying for a service when they’re not 100% in it so this is usually where I cease services to save the client money and so neither of our time is wasted.
A coach/client relationship is a TEAM. A STRONG TEAM. A team that grows and accomplishes new things together. A team that has very open dialogue and continued communication. A team that believes in each other. A team that works together (“the coach to provide the best possible program, to make adjustments, and to motivate and the client’s job is to execute to the best of their abilities”).
I just can’t do it alone…
