The most abusive tool used to gauge progress is the scale. To some, it is the “dreaded scale” and looking at it can become an obsession (and a very unhealthy one!). Yes the scale will tell you how much you weigh but it certainly doesn’t tell you anything other than that. In the end, it is just a measurement of you and your relationship to gravity.
The documentation and monitoring of i) measurements, ii) energy levels, and iii) physiological responses to food and training are vastly superior measuring tools than the scale but above these, I always stress to use the most accurate tool of all – THE MIRROR!
The way your body responds to a nutrition plan and workout program will be evident in your reflection because “THE BODY DOESN’T LIE”.
If you eat too much, too poorly, and too often it is guaranteed to show. If you eat within your means, eat real food, and exercise accordingly (AND REPEAT) that will also be evident in your reflection. Nothing is more accurate in monitoring your fat loss progress than the mirror.
